Befriend a Bee Friend

Today I befreinded a bee! I found him in my house moving very slowly, so I got him on the edge of a glass and took him out to my blooming blueberry plant. He really did look peaked, but then looked happy to be suddenly on a flower. Still moving very slowly, I decided he needed fuel. So I put a bit of honey onto the flower. He immediately took to it, and after a few minutes started perking up! I even put a tiny drop of water there in case he was thirsty. After a few more minutes he was flying around again, yay!

Why Bees Matter

Bees have souls too!

Ted Andrews, author of Animal Speak says that bees are the symbol of fertility and sexuality. He goes on the say, their honeycomb, is the symbol of the heart and represents the sweetness of life found within our own heart.

On a practical level, one-third of the food we eat relies on bees for pollination. This includes essential items like apples, almonds, and blueberries. When bees thrive, we thrive!

Bees help maintain biodiversity. By assisting in plant reproduction, they help secure the survival of various ecosystems. Healthy bee populations support countless wildlife species, creating a rich tapestry of life. Befriending a bee friend means supporting not just one creature, but an entire network of life around us.

When we befriend a bee friend, we foster a healthier and happier environment for ourselves and future generations. The next time you see a bee buzzing in your garden, give them a soul-to-soul hello!
